Terms of Service

Welcome to Egern ("the App"). By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). Please read them carefully. If you do not agree with these Terms, do not use the App.

1. Acceptance of Terms​

By using Egern, you confirm that you are at least the minimum legal age required in your jurisdiction to use the App, and that you have read, understood, and agreed to abide by these Terms.

2. Description of Service​

Egern provides network utility and connectivity-related functions on iOS. These features may include, but are not limited to:

  • Managing and applying network configurations
  • Importing, exporting, or editing user-provided configuration files
  • Monitoring network status and related technical parameters
  • Creating rules or preferences to influence network behavior

The App itself does not provide, distribute, or operate any network infrastructure, proxy service, or connectivity backend. All network configurations and services used within the App must be provided by the user.

3. User Responsibility​

You are fully responsible for:

  • Providing your own configuration files, server information, or network resources
  • Ensuring that your usage complies with all applicable local, national, and international laws
  • Ensuring that any resources or services you access through the App are authorized and legally obtained
  • Maintaining the confidentiality of your own device, accounts, configurations, and data

The App does not endorse or encourage bypassing network restrictions, accessing unauthorized content, or engaging in any unlawful activity.

4. Prohibited Activities​

You agree not to use the App for:

  • Violating any applicable laws or regulations
  • Accessing networks, systems, or data without permission
  • Distributing or accessing unauthorized or copyrighted materials illegally
  • Engaging in fraudulent, harmful, or abusive activities
  • Interfering with or disrupting network services or devices

Any misuse of the App may result in termination of your rights to use it.

5. In-App Purchases and Validation​

Some features may require a one-time in-app purchase. Validation may involve transmitting limited device identifiers solely to confirm entitlement and prevent fraud.

6. TestFlight Participation​

Participation in TestFlight beta testing is optional and may involve instability, unexpected behavior, or bugs.

7. Intellectual Property​

Egern, including its design, code, trademarks, and associated materials, is owned by the developer. You may not:

  • Copy, modify, or redistribute the App
  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code
  • Use any part of the App's branding or assets without permission

8. No Warranty​

Egern is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranty of any kind. We do not guarantee:

  • That the App will meet your requirements
  • That the App will function without interruptions or errors
  • That the App will be compatible with all configurations, services, or third-party systems you choose to use with it

You use the App at your own risk.

9. Limitation of Liability​

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

  • We are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages resulting from your use of the App
  • We are not responsible for issues arising from third-party services, configuration files, servers, or network resources provided by you or others

If you are not satisfied with the App, your sole remedy is to discontinue its use.

10. Updates and Modifications​

We may update the App or these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the App after changes are published constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.

11. Termination​

We reserve the right to terminate or suspend your access to the App at our discretion, without refund, if you violate these Terms.

You may stop using the App at any time by uninstalling it.

12. Governing Law​

These Terms are governed by the laws applicable in your jurisdiction unless superseded by mandatory local legislation.
